PLEXUS MA2090

Main features

  • Highly Thixotropic Vertical-Bead Control
  • 90-95 Minute Work Time
  • 0.75-38 mm Non-Sag Gap Filling

Product Description

Plexus MA2090 is a highly thixotropic two-part 10:1 methacrylate structural adhesive for composite, thermoplastic and metal assemblies. The non-sagging formulation resists bead sag and slide on vertical surfaces. At 23.9 deg C, typical work time is 90-95 minutes, supporting large assemblies that require extended positioning time. The adhesive fills gaps from 0.75 to 38 mm. After cure, typical tensile strength is 15.2-20.0 MPa, elongation at break is 90-120%, and aluminum lap-shear strength is 12.4 MPa.

Key features

  • Highly thixotropic vertical-bead control: The formulation is designed to resist adhesive sag and slide on vertical surfaces.
  • 90-95 minute work time: Typical work time is 90-95 minutes at 23.9 deg C.
  • Non-sag gap filling to 38 mm: The adhesive is specified for gaps from 0.75 to 38 mm.

Applications

Structural bonding of composites, thermoplastics and metals; vertical bonding; large-bead assemblies requiring extended working time.

Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
