Main features

  • Aluminum-Copper-Graphite Anti-Seize Blend
  • Service to 870 deg C
  • Meets MIL-A-907E Requirements

Product Description

Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant, 8 oz is a heavy-duty anti-seize lubricant containing aluminum, copper and graphite lubricating solids for high-temperature threaded and slow-moving assemblies. The metallic paste has a typical viscosity of 100,000-200,000 cP and a specific gravity of 1.13. Its stated service range extends from -51 to 870 deg C. The lubricant is used to reduce galling, seizing and wear under heavy contact pressure while supporting later disassembly of heat-exposed or corrosive assemblies. The product meets or exceeds the requirements of MIL-A-907E and is not intended for wheel lug nut or stud applications.

Key features

  • Aluminum, copper and graphite anti-seize: The lubricating-solid blend is formulated for threaded and slow-moving assemblies exposed to heat and pressure.
  • Service range to 870 deg C: The stated temperature range is -51 to 870 deg C.
  • MIL-A-907E requirement: The product meets or exceeds the requirements of Military Specification MIL-A-907E.

Applications

Spark-plug threads; exhaust-manifold and engine bolts; brake anchor pins; U-bolts and spring bolts; hinges, gears, chains, sprockets and rollers; boiler and oven parts.

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
