PERMABOND 801

Main features

  • High-Temperature Bonding Performance
  • Very-Low-Viscosity Fine-Gap Bonding
  • Fast 10-15 Second Fixture

Product Description

PERMABOND 801 is a low-viscosity modified ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive formulated for applications requiring high-temperature resistance. Typical viscosity is 10 to 15 mPa s at 25 deg C with a maximum gap fill of 0.05 mm, making it a close-fitting grade for thin bondlines. Steel, Buna N rubber, and phenolic typically reach fixture strength in 10 to 15 seconds, with full strength developing in 24 hours. The cured adhesive provides typical steel shear strength of 19 to 23 N/mm^2 and is used for bonding rubber, metals, and plastics where elevated-temperature capability is needed.

Key features

  • High-Temperature Bonding Grade: The modified cyanoacrylate is formulated for applications requiring high-temperature resistance.
  • Very-Low-Viscosity Fine-Gap Bonding: Typical viscosity of 10 to 15 mPa s pairs with a maximum gap of 0.05 mm.
  • 10-15 Second Fixture: Steel, Buna N rubber, and phenolic typically reach fixture strength in 10 to 15 seconds.

Applications

Bonding rubber, metals, and plastics where elevated-temperature resistance is required.

Ethyl cyanoacrylate
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
