PERMABOND 4C30
Harmonization Code : 3910.00.00.90 | Silicones in Primary Forms; Others
Main features
- 0.38 mm Gap Bonding
- Fast 15-Second Fixture
- Automated Assembly Dispensing Capability
Product Description
PERMABOND 4C30 is an intermediate-viscosity ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive for rapid bonding across small-to-intermediate gaps. Typical viscosity is 1200 to 2400 mPa s at 25 deg C, with a maximum gap fill of 0.38 mm and typical 15-second fixture time on steel, Buna N rubber, and phenolic. The grade is suitable for plastics, rubber, and metals and can be dispensed automatically, combining controlled flow with fast room-temperature cure. Typical cured steel shear strength is 20 to 22 N/mm^2.
Key features
- Intermediate-Viscosity Gap Bonding: A typical viscosity of 1200 to 2400 mPa s supports gaps up to 0.38 mm.
- 15-Second Fixture: Steel, Buna N rubber, and phenolic typically reach fixture strength in 15 seconds.
- Automated Dispensing Fit: The grade can be dispensed automatically in fast assembly processes.

Technical Specifications
General Properties
Appearance
Colourless
Appearance at room temperature.
Chemistry Type
Ethyl cyanoacrylate
Specific Gravity
1.1
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume.
For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
Physical Properties
Viscosity
1200-2400 mPa.s
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow.
Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as
the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP.
A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs-
compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than
water would.
The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in
order to better suit an application
