PERMABOND 4C10
Harmonization Code : 3910.00.00.90 | Silicones in Primary Forms; Others
Main features
- Low-Viscosity Fine-Gap Bonding
- Fast 5-20 Second Fixture
- Hard-to-Bond Rubber Adhesion
Product Description
PERMABOND 4C10 is a low-viscosity ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive for rapid bonding of plastics and elastomers, including hard-to-bond natural rubber, EPDM, and butyl rubber. Typical viscosity is 30 to 50 mPa s at 25 deg C, supporting thin bondlines and a maximum gap fill of 0.1 mm. Fixture times are typically 5 to 10 seconds on Buna N rubber, phenolic, PVC, and ABS, with steel reaching fixture strength in 10 to 15 seconds. The cured adhesive also provides measured shear strength on steel, aluminum, zinc, and selected engineering plastics.
Key features
- Low-Viscosity Fine-Gap Bonding: Typical viscosity of 30 to 50 mPa s supports a maximum gap of 0.1 mm.
- Fast Multi-Substrate Fixture: Fixture strength is typically reached within 5 to 20 seconds across the specified rubber, plastic, and steel substrates.
- Hard-to-Bond Rubber Capability: The grade is specified for natural rubber, EPDM, butyl rubber, and hard-to-bond plastics.

Technical Specifications
General Properties
Appearance
Colourless
Appearance at room temperature.
Chemistry Type
Ethyl cyanoacrylate
Specific Gravity
1.1
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume.
For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
Physical Properties
Viscosity
30-50 mPa.s
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow.
Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as
the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP.
A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs-
compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than
water would.
The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in
order to better suit an application
