MOLYKOTE G-804

Main features

  • Nonmelting High-Temperature Lubrication
  • Moisture-Resistant Seal Lubrication
  • Rubber and Plastic Component Coverage

Product Description

MOLYKOTE G-804 Silicone Compound is a stiff, nonmelting silicone fluid thickened with silica for lubrication of rubber and plastic O-rings, gaskets, seals and bushings. It also functions as a chemical- and water-resistant barrier coating and as a sealant or release agent for transformer gaskets and equipment enclosures. The white-to-translucent compound remains serviceable from -40 to 204 deg C and has low volatility and very low vapor pressure. It may be applied manually, by supported automated equipment, or by brushing or wiping.

Key features

  • Nonmelting high-temperature lubrication: Remains serviceable across the -40 to 204 deg C temperature range.
  • Rubber and plastic seal coverage: Supports O-rings, gaskets, seals, bushings and supported automotive boot components.
  • Moisture-resistant barrier and release: Serves as a barrier, sealant or release compound for supported gasket and enclosure applications.

Applications

Applications include rubber and plastic O-rings, gaskets, seals, bushings, automotive spark-plug boots, boot seals, transformer gaskets and equipment enclosures.

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.
