LOCTITE U-09FL

Main features

  • Equal-Ratio Volume Mixing
  • 10-Minute Working Life
  • 178% Cured Elongation

Product Description

LOCTITE UK U-09FL is a two-part, low-viscosity polyurethane adhesive that mixes at 1:1 by volume and cures at room temperature. The clear components form an ultra-clear mixed adhesive for structural bonding of plastics, including polycarbonate, as well as glass and metal. Typical processing data include a 10-minute working life at 25 deg C and a 3 to 24 hour tack-free time at 25 deg C. Cured-material data include 178% tensile elongation, Shore D hardness 45, and 2,761 psi tensile strength.

Key features

  • Equal-Ratio Mixing: Component A and Component B mix at 1:1 by volume.
  • Working-Life Window: Typical working life is 10 minutes at 25 deg C.
  • Cured Flexibility: Typical tensile elongation is 178% for material cured at 25 deg C.

Applications

Structural bonding of plastics, including polycarbonate, as well as glass and metal.

Technical Specifications

General Properties
Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity (Part A)
5,000 -15,000 mPa.s
Viscosity (Part B)
600 - 2,000 mPa.s
Thermal Properties
Glass Transition Temperature (Tg)
The glass transition temperature for organic adhesives is a temperature region where the polymers change from glassy and brittle to soft and rubbery. Increasing the temperature further continues the softening process as the viscosity drops too. Temperatures between the glass transition temperature and below the decomposition point of the adhesive are the best region for bonding. The glass-transition temperature Tg of a material characterizes the range of temperatures over which this glass transition occurs.
25.8 °C
