LOCTITE SI 5075

Main features

  • Self-Fusing Silicone Wrap
  • -54 to 260 deg C Operating Range
  • 300% Final-Material Elongation

Product Description

LOCTITE SI 5075 is a self-fusing silicone rubber wrap for electrical insulation, temporary sealing, flexible hose and pipe repair, and tool-handle wrapping. The 0.5 mm wrap stretches and fuses to itself, so installation uses overlapping layers without adhesive contact to the underlying surface. Its operating temperature range is -54 to 260 deg C. Typical final-material properties include Shore A hardness 50, tensile strength of 4.8 N/mm^2, 300% elongation, and volume resistivity of 1x10^14 ohm cm.

Key features

  • Self-Fusing Installation: The 0.5 mm silicone wrap stretches and fuses to itself in overlapping layers without bonding to the underlying surface.
  • Temperature Capability: Operates from -54 to 260 deg C.
  • Electrical Insulation: Typical final-material volume resistivity is 1x10^14 ohm cm by IEC 60093.

Applications

Electrical insulation; flexible hose repair; pipe repair; sealing; tool-handle wrapping.

Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.

Volume Resistivity
Volume resistivity, also called volume resistance, bulk resistance or bulk resistivity is a thickness dependent measurement of the resistivity of a material perpendicular to the plane of the surface.
