LAIRD COOLZORB-500

Main features

  • Dual Thermal and EMI Management
  • Broadband 1-to-90-GHz EMI Suppression
  • Compliant Low-Stress Interface Contact

Product Description

CoolZorb 500 is a compliant hybrid thermal-interface and EMI-absorber sheet for placement between an IC or other heat source and a heat sink, heat-transfer device, or metal chassis. It combines 4.0 W/(m K) thermal conductivity with board-level EMI suppression across 1 to 90 GHz. Typical attenuation is 22.4 dB/cm at 10 GHz and 28.4 dB/cm at 20 GHz. Inherent surface tack supports placement, while Shore 00 59.5 hardness minimizes component stress during assembly. CoolZorb 500 provides simultaneous thermal transfer and suppression of unwanted coupling, resonances, and surface currents.

Key features

  • Dual thermal and EMI control: The sheet combines 4.0 W/(m K) conductivity with EMI absorption.
  • Broadband EMI suppression: EMI suppression spans 1 to 90 GHz.
  • Compliant tacky interface: Inherent surface tack and Shore 00 59.5 hardness support assembly placement.

Applications

Thermal interfaces between ICs or other heat sources and heat sinks, heat-transfer devices, or metal chassis, with board-level EMI mitigation.

Thermal Conductivity
Thermal conductivity describes the ability of a material to conduct heat. It is required by power packages in order to dissipate heat and maintain stable electrical performance. Thermal conductivity units are [W/(m K)] in the SI system and [Btu/(hr ft °F)] in the Imperial system.
