EPOCAST 1615

Main features

  • 0.70 g/cc Mixed Density
  • 15-Minute Gel Time
  • Self-Extinguishing Cured System

Product Description

EPOCAST 1615 A/B is a two-component, low-density epoxy syntactic edge sealant for honeycomb structures. The off-white Part A and amber Part B mix at 100:14 by weight to form an off-white paste with typical density of 0.70 g/cc and a 15-minute gel time at 25 deg C. The system cures in 24 hours at 25 deg C, or after room-temperature gel followed by five hours at 52 deg C. The system combines flame resistance and high strength with qualification to BMS 5-28, Type 15 for aerospace composite edge sealing.

Key features

  • 0.70 g/cc Mixed Density: The off-white mixed paste is used for honeycomb edge-seal applications.
  • 15-Minute Gel Time: This typical value applies to a 50 g mass at 25 deg C.
  • Self-Extinguishing Flammability: Horizontal and vertical flammability results are self-extinguishing for the cured system.

Applications

Honeycomb core edge sealing; aerospace composite structures.
