DOWSIL 3-7062

Main features

  • Excellent Unprimed Adhesion
  • Remains Flexible over a Wide Temperature Range
  • Excellent Weathering and Good Mechanical Properties

Product Description

DOWSIL™ Q3-7062 RTV Silicone Rubber is a one-part, neutral-cure RTV silicone rubber designed for sealing and bonding industrial assemblies that contain dissimilar materials with different thermal expansion rates. This non-corrosive, non-slumping silicone adhesive provides excellent unprimed adhesion to most metals and many plastics while maintaining flexibility across a wide temperature range. The material offers strong weatherability, good mechanical properties, and outstanding UV resistance, making it suitable for automotive lamp assembly and a variety of industrial sealing and bonding applications where durable, flexible bonds are required.

Key features

  • Neutral-cure silicone chemistry: One-part, non-corrosive formulation that simplifies dispensing and application processes.
  • Excellent adhesion: Bonds to most metals and many plastics without primer in many applications.
  • UV and weather resistance: Maintains performance in outdoor and exposed environments requiring long-term durability.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Automotive lamp sealing and bonding
  • Industrial assembly sealing
  • Bonding dissimilar materials
  • Applications requiring flexible, durable seals
  • Outdoor assemblies exposed to weathering and UV radiation

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Mechanical Properties
Elongation
Elongation is the process of lengthening something. It is a percentage that measures the initial, unstressed, length compared to the length of the material right before it breaks. It is commonly referred to as Ultimate Elongation or Tensile Elongation at break.
