BOSTIK H2211

Main features

  • High-Tack High-Shear PSA
  • Metals and Most Plastics Adhesion
  • Temperature Resistance at Workable Viscosity

Product Description

Bostik Thermogrip 2211 is a high-performance hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive for assembly and tape applications. It combines high tack and high shear with good temperature resistance at a workable viscosity. The adhesive bonds metals and most plastics and is used for durable labels, tape constructions, and product assembly. These characteristics make the grade useful where a hot-melt PSA must balance initial tack, resistance to shear loading, temperature exposure, and practical application viscosity. Its use range centers on metal- and plastic-based adhesive constructions that require durable pressure-sensitive bonding.

Key features

  • High tack and high shear: Pressure-sensitive performance combines strong tack with high shear resistance.
  • Metals and plastics adhesion: Adheres to metals and most plastics for assembly and tape constructions.
  • Temperature and viscosity balance: Provides good temperature resistance at a workable viscosity.

Applications

Assembly and tape applications involving metals and plastics, including durable labels and product assembly.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
